The 'Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd.' emerges as a distinguished cooperative dairy, renowned for its widely recognized brand 'Gokul.' Established under Operation Flood on March 16, 1963, the dairy initially began with a modest milk collection of 500 liters per day from 22 societies. Over the years, it has achieved significant milestones in various facets of the dairy industry, including Milk Procurement, Extension, Animal Health, Breeding, Milk Processing, Product Manufacturing, and Marketing.
Gokul stands as a testament to continuous progress and innovation in the dairy sector. Presently, the dairy boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including modern dairy plants with a capacity of 7 lakh liters per day, along with five chilling centers that can handle 4.25 lakh liters per day of milk. Complementing these facilities is a contemporary Packing Unit situated in Navi Mumbai.
